Dining Out with Devra First

11:05
Devra First -  Hi everybody. To answer two questions before you ask them: Yes, Tu y Yo is now open in Needham. No, the Needham Pomodoro is not connected with the North End and Brookline Pomodoros. (Pomodori?)
11:05
Devra First -  Now, tell me what you've been eating for the last two weeks! Highlights?

Also, any idea on Peace O' Pie in Allston - seemingly taking over TJ's ??http://www.peaceopie.com/
11:10
Devra First -  There's a lot of raw/vegan/healthy action going on in the dining landscape these days: a new branch of Grezzo in Newburyport, Peace o' Pie in Allston opening too.
11:10
Devra First -  Peace o' Pie planning September opening, I believe.

So my husband and I were debating on who makes a better blueberry pancake... Delux Town Diner or The Friendly Toast... care to settle this?
11:11
Devra First -  Oh, wow. Delux is great. I haven't had the Friendly Toast's blueberry pancakes. I'm more eggs than dough for breakfast, generally. Anyone want to weigh in?

hi - any suggestions for vegitarian dining on the south shore - preferrably something that isnt pasta
11:13
Devra First -  How do you define South Shore? If Sharon counts, Coriander Bistro does really good Himalayan and Indian, plenty of veg options. Anyone have other suggestions? I'm thinking...

south shore - quincy, weymouth, marshfield, hingham, norwell etc
11:14
Devra First -  Have you tried Hola in Marshfield? Flatbread and tapas with some good vegetarian options.

I love love LOVE the Friendly Toast, but I prefer Deluxe's pancakes, which are light, fluffy, and delicious. Savory breakfasts at Friendly Toast tend to be better, because the sweet things are VERY sweet.

I just want to say how much I enjoyed my meal at Myers and Chang two weeks ago. We went with a vegan and someone with a gluten allergy and everyone left full and happy. I especially enjoyed the tea smoked spare ribs... drool. (thank goodness I don't have any food limitations!)
11:16
Devra First -  Myers and Chang is really good about taking care of people with allergies/restrictions. Upstairs on the Square, too.

Thanks for the vegan suggestion at M&C, I always end up at Upstairs which is amazing, a change of atmosphere is good.
