Kate -  Hey everyone. Here in NYC for tonight's Sixers/Knicks pre-season game. Let's answer some questions.

Hey Kate, why'd they cut Stromile Swift already?
3:01
Kate -  I like to go with the easy questions first: They cut Stromile because he hasn't participated in a minute of practice since the first session on the first day of training camp. Injured with a strained left hamstring. My impression is he wasn't busting it to get himself back on the floor.

Can you see Christmas making this team or is Jordan just giving him a few props before releasing him shortly?

Do you see Dionte Christmas making the final roster for Opening Night or do you see changes coming before then?
3:03
Kate -  Wow.   A lot of questions about Dionte. So let's answer it. It's an uphill battle for Christmas, especially financially speaking. The Sixers (and all NBA teams) were limited in their off-season spending. I think to convince the organization to pay another salary is going to be difficult. Especially for a shooting guard on a team that's loaded with guards. I could see them keeping him, but I say the chances are around 10 percent.

From your early glimpses, does Brand look closer to the pre-injury form of a few years ago or more like the Brand that started last season before separating his shoulder?
3:06
Kate -  I think the reality is somewhere between those two. He's certainly not where he was before the Achilles when he was with LA, but I think he's stronger and healthier than last year. I see him like a 14-8 guy this year. It seems the big-time scoring will mostly come from Lou, Iguodala, and Thad.
