The Bundesliga Season Finale

1:53
Jan -  Welcome to the liveblog. 100 minutes to go until kick-off.
2:10
Jan -  Polls, polls, polls and a live Bundesliga table are online. I've taken the liberty of reducing the latter to the ten teams which still have something to play for.
2:13
Jan -  Here's a last minute request by someone in SIngapore who wants to watch the finale:  http://bundesliga.theoffside.com/teams/guide-to-the-bundesligas-season-finale.html#comment-7174

Jan -

I don't think so, but I wonder what Bremen will do. I think Schaaf as announced that he'll play his best eleven including Diego and rest nobody for the DFB-Pokal. They may also want to achieve a positive result going into that final. But then again, Wolfsburg really only need a draw...

2:23
Jan -  News coming in that former Stuttgart coach Armin Veh will take over the Wolfsburg job.

[Comment From Mark]
Does anyone think the Wolves will get nervous?
2:25
Jan -  Sorry Mark, first time using coveritlive, and I didn't know I had to clear comments..
2:29
Jan -

Werder Bremen gets to play in all the biggest matches today: their reserves down in the third division currently play against Fortuna Düsseldorf. Düsseldorf has a chance to get back to the second division for the first time in ten years and the stadium is sold out: 51.500 for a third division match. Current score: Fortuna 1-0 Werder II

[Comment From diana]
Hello Jan, I had read about the news regarding Armin Veh. And according to Uli Hoeness, Christian Nerlinger will be his successor at the club...
2:44
Jan -

Yup, though I doubt he'll have the same powers as Hoeness.

2:44
diana -  I see.
2:46
diana -  Anyhow, my palms are really sweating all over. If not for the fact that Formula One is on the television over where I am at the moment (the qualifying round at the Monaco leg) and I am watching it, I will be having a ton of nerves indeed. My club Stuttgart, locking horns with Bayern...a title-decider. I certainly did not expect it will come down to this.
2:46
Mark -  Thanks Jan, and how about explaining to a non-German how the relegation play-offs work :-)
2:49
Jan -  Well, I think you'll need to explain that to some native Germans as well. The play-offs have been reintroduced this season for the first time in almost 20 years. It's a two-legged tie (home/away) with the away goals rule known from the European cup competitions. 16th placed team from the Bundesliga takes on the 3rd placed team from the 2. Bundesliga. The 2. Bundesliga will have home advantage in the second leg.
