do you think it was the best choice?

[Comment From Steve]
Why haven't the cowboys given an "official statement about the release? Another way to get Cowboys in the media limelight?
1:59
WFAA.com's Aaron Chimbel -  I think it was the choice Jerry Jones had to make to move forward and put the debacle of last season behind them. There was clearly some divisions in the locker room and T.O. was the most divisive player.

Maybe they are just going to re-configure his contract and had to release him to do so?
2:00
DavidMarcus -  Thalia, I think it was the best decision in the longterm, but the Cowboys may pay for it this season. Who is ready to step in at receiver? Roy Williams has a lot of work to do and the other players are unproven at that position. The move poses more questions than it answers.
2:01
WFAA.com's Aaron Chimbel -  Steve, Part of the no official statement may be because Jerry Jones is the only official spokesman.
I really don't think there is any way he comes back. They wouldn't have made it public like this if it was just a contract issue.

Do you think this will give Hurd and Austin the opportunity they deserve. Youth and speed there

[Comment From SportsTalk Producer Josh]
Of course it was the best choice. This team was always going have problems if you didn't get rid of him.

Jerry Jones had respeatedly stated that he did not believe in a chemistry problem. So what is his rationale for this decision?

[Comment From Guest]
Steve, they aren't re-configuring his contract. ESPN is reporting that Jerry and Stephen Jones met with TO face-to-face and told him they were releasing him. It's over ... just not sure why the Cowboys have yet to release a statement.
2:02
WFAA.com's Aaron Chimbel -  Yes. I think Austin is the one to watch he has the athleticism to be an impact player. Austin won't necesarily be a #1 receiver, but he can be a strong second receiver who can stretch the field.
2:02
WFAA.com's Aaron Chimbel -  Hurd is more of a possession receiver.

[Comment From WFAA Sports Ted Madden]
I like Miles Austin too, in that role. The Cowboys still have a ton of offensive talent, with a 3-headed monster at RB and a pro-bowl TE.

[Comment From Ben]
Won't they need to get another veteran wide out to keep the offense a threat and to keep coverage off of williams? If so who is out there?

[Comment From thalia]
I think your right because I did not see much of roy williams so i dont think he will do good
