BREAKING NEWS --- The trade that sent Tyson Chandler to the Thunder has been resinded.       Chandler failed his physical.

This is terrible news for the Jazz.   It brings the Hornets back into contention for the Western Conference and it gives the Thunder 23 million in cap space for the off-season which makes them a player for any of the Jazz potential free agents.

The names we are following are Vince Carter; Richard Jefferson; Wally Sczerbiak, Raef LaFrentz and Marcus Camby

The craziest trade being talked about is the Clippers wanting to get rid of Baron Davis and his brand new 5 year deal and they may be willing to take Tracy McGrady who today announced he is out for the season without telling the Rockets

Why don't the Jazz trade for Tyson Chandler, he is exactly what they need true 7footer the blocks shots and rebounds.

LOCKE:   You would have to trade Memo for that deal and the Hornets wouldn't do that deal unless they knew Memo was opting out.   Alsowould you want to trade Memo for Chandler
12:02
Lakers have traded Chris Mihm to the Grizzlies for a draft pick.   This is another avoid the luxury tax move.   You would think with Bynum out that Mihm is nice insurance but no one is nice enough insurance to pay the luxury tax

there must have been something really wrong with Chandler for OKC to rescind that trade.

Good morning

I just talked to two east coast sources neither have heard much from the Jazz.     They both say things are quiet on the Jazz front but also point out that the Jazz keep their business close to the vest.

In addition, they both said the Jazz can't play the trade the expiring contract game that is dominating this trade deadline since you don't know which players will opt out and which players won't

The word on Phoenix is they are shooting for the moon with Amare on one last run around the league.     However, as one person said to me the owner killed that idea letting everyone know they wanted to move Amare and that they have money issues, now they are wanting entire rosters.

For example in Memphis they asked for three starters, Rudy Gay, Mike Conley and Hakim Warrick

LOCKE:   Cleveland is in a real quandry.   They have this assect in Wally's contract however they love what Wally does for the team and the offense.   He is such a good shooter and give LeBron room to work.   Their is talk of a Camby trade, but they are concerned about the offense if they make that move and the defense is already #2 in the NBA.     A name that is circulating is Richard Jefferson along with Vince Carter.   Both of those players would seem to be a better fit.

On a statistical note I would caution Cleveland,.   Wally averages 1.16 pts per scoring opportunity,   Carter averages 1.10 and Jefferson is a 1.09.   Plus both Jefferson and Carter average using two times the possessions that Wally uses

Is it me, or can the Jazz just not catch a break this season? Finally some good news with Chandler leaving, oh, then he gets Resinded? Man, how often does that happen? Making the playoffs will be more impressive than ever, especially with Phoenix and Dallas playing better now...

Locke - Regarding the Chandler trade, can a turf toe really be that bad to rescind a trade? You're going nowhere this year anyways. Wasn't the trade supposed to be for next year and the year after?
7:30
Locke:   Portland and Raef LaFrentz's expiring contract is supposed to be the next thing to fall -- Milwaukee has Richard Jefferson and he would fit into the way Portland plays.     Nate McMillian is a high pick and roll coach and wants shooters and slashers on the wing.     Travis Outlaw has been clutch but I think they want more.

I am driving my son to school. I will make some calls around the league after I drop him off and then I will be back on the blog until the deadline passes.

OKC has to be the team that would make an offer to Millsap that the Jazz would be forced to refuse...am I wrong here?? Not sure Boozer would opt out to go to OKC...

[Comment From Jeff]
Locke-Do you think Oklahoma City just got cold feet on the trade? How likely is it that Chandler gets traded this offseason assuming he isn't traded today.

[Comment From Adam]
Talk about the Jazz's pick they recieved from the Knicks. How much demand is there for it, and is that pick ultimately going to be used to replace Milsap or Boozer (I assume we'll keep one of them).

[Comment From Lance Bass]
If Chandler is injured, is it better for the Jazz that he didn't leave the Hornets? Are the Hornets now forced to move someone else?
9:20
[Comment From Josh]
The real question is, if the Hornets are desperate to get under the tax, do they move someone else (or chandler again) by the deadline. Can they find a taker for Peja? Is david West expendable?
