I know what to do when it comes to eating but why do I always want to take the easy way out re: fast food
11:22
Joy Bauer -  I understand where you are coming from... we all lead such hectic lives.! The key is to plan ahead so the right choices become "fast food". , Make a list of three breakfast options, three lunch options and three dinner meals... and shop for the ingredients. You'll be set to grab diet friendly meals in a flash. Hope this helps.

Why is diet soda so bad for me? I'm distressed!
11:26
Joy Bauer -  I understand that diet soda is a terrific weight loss tool (0 calories)... but so many people drink WAY too much and all of that artificial sweetener cannot be good for us. I say try 7 days WITHOUT artificial sweeteners altogether to cleanse your palate, and then allow yourself up to two items a day going forward. That sound okay? You can do this!

Is it possible to eat too much fiber?
11:31
Joy Bauer -  Oh yes! You will know if it's too much though... you'll get bad stomach aches. Aim for at least 30 grams a day and drink plenty of water to help wash it through your body. If you currently don't have stomach aches or cramps (or diarrhea), you're probably not taking in too much.

Hi Joy. You are wonderful. I have trouble with late night snacking. What can I do?
11:33
Joy Bauer -  Soooo many women have the same exact problem! Try your best to close the kitchen after dinner... brush and floss your teeth... light non-food scented candles... and if you must have a snack, preplan it and portion at 150 calories or less. Also, try to push it as late into the evening as you can so you don't go back for seconds (and this way you'll have it to look forward too).

Please give examples of healthy snacks(specific).
11:36
Joy Bauer -  apple with one-two teaspoons of peanut butter; celery with 2 tablespoons low-fat cream cheese; 150 calories worth of soy crisps; orange and part-skim string cheese; nonfat Greek yogurt with half cup berries; 20 toasted natural almonds.... Hope that helps!

Is olive oil good or bad on a diet?
11:37
Joy Bauer -  olive oil is a terrific heart healthy fat... BUT it's loaded with calories (120 calories per Tablespoon). That being said, all calories count when you are trying to lose weight so use it sparingly.

Hello Joy. I have a problem with sugar. I love sweets. I tend to eat sweet when I'm stressed. How can I stop the cravings.
11:42
Joy Bauer -  I am a fellow sweet lover... eeks. Try to completely avoid your personal trigger foods (the sweets that once you start eating you cannot stop). At the same time, allow yourself one portion-controlled sweet a day like a fun size candy bar or one ounce of dark chocolate or a low-fat ice cream pop. You can also "sometimes" satisfy a sweet craving with vanilla tea, sugarless gum, sweet berries, red peppers and sugar snap peas. Good luck!

What are your top three fish choices. I heard some are better than others.
11:46
Joy Bauer -  Wild salmon, sardines, and shrimp. The first two are brimming with omega 3 fats and Vitamin D! Shrimp is super low-calorie and low-contaminant.
