My friend told me braids weren't professional. I think they look nice. Why shouldn't someone wear well-groomed braids to work?
12:01
Depends on where u work or how u wear ur braids.

I am planning to boycott his movie. I find the topic awful!
12:04
Hey Renee. Tell folks why you're going to boycott.

As a natural professional, I do feel like there are certain styles and colors that are unprofessional. But completely labeling majority of black styles as unprofessional, I would disagree
12:07
I agree with Danielle. It depends on the style, the person and the job whether a style is a good fit. I talked to a CPA the other day with blonde  locks who hasn't had any problems on her job because of her. She does joke that she might do better wi guys if she were more Beyonce though....

I loved the film, just wish he had more of a East coast perspective, since natural hair is more acceptable here

I don't think it should be boycotted, he just aired information that we talk about in the private lives.

Why is hair such a big deal to women?
12:08
Hair is a BIG deal. I think it's because it's such an expression of who we r.

No problem. Instead of creating a movie that further divides AA communities, Chris Rock has created a movie adds to the fears and misconceptions that we currently have. It is bad enough that some of us are "color struck" and think that being light is being better, the notion that there is such a thing as "good hair" just feeds into that.

No problem. Here is my take. It is bad enough that so many African Americans are “color struck,” without Mr. Rock developing a movie that will further divide our communities. The title of his movie plays on the idiotic notion forged into the brains of African American women that there is such thing as “good hair.” When, as a community, are we going to get away from the “slave” mentality state of mind! This movie plays on the fears and insecurities that we have as African Americans and as women.

How often do you get your hair done?
12:11

I should probably get my hair done more often than I do. I just can't stand spending so much time in a stylist's chair. I'd rather be doing almost anything. I probably go every two months. That's not so bad....

I definitely don't think he divided us as african american women, this was an issue prior to him putting the film together. He stated in the beginning that he decided to do it because his daughter asked him why she doesn't have good hair.
12:13

Chris Rock is funny. But he lacks depth at least when it comes to "Good Hair." He never answers the question why? Why do women feel compelled to do what they do to achieve a certain look?

I think as black woman we take a lot of things very sensitive, such as our hair. my questions is why is that?
