First of all, how was your feel on the selections?
8:01
Brian Foley -  I know seeding teams is very tough every year but I find it hard to believe that a ninth place team in the Big 12 gets an at-large berth over Rhode Island. URI had some great victories this season and OK State really has done very little.

I don't like how UVA got sent to Irvine to play in a Regional for teh second straight year they are on the west coast....Come on....Irvine is a tough bracket though.

The NCAA also didn't give the Big West any credit this year which is shown by Irvine winning the conference by 5 games and Fullerton gets the number 2 overall seed over them??

Northeast teams are struggling to keep programs alive as is so the committee goes out and snubs a deserving URI team for a Big 12 teams that's mediocre at best. Way to go guys!
8:04
Colin Weber -  Agree.   Rhode Island put together a tournament resume.   They won 17 games on the road and went 14-2 at home.   If they had the weather to play more home games they would've been able to put together a stronger resume.   I think URI was the biggest snub of the day.
8:04
Donald Boyles -  I have to agree with Brian on this about Oklahoma State getting in over teams like Rhode Island. But every year there are teams that get left out.
8:04
Brian Foley -  Agreed totally with this statement. Jim Foster is a great guy and even a better coach and he has seen his alma mater get its program cut in 1999. You can check out our interview with Foster by clicking here.

How did UC Irvine end up as the sixth seed? Seems like a bit of a slight.
8:06
Colin Weber -  RPI and non-conference SOS.   They had an outstanding conference record, but they did have a pretty low RPI for a national seed.
8:06
Donald Boyles -  Seems a little odd that they get the 6th seed but Fullerton gets the 2 seed yet UC-Irvine wins their Conference by 5 games.

total snub of URI, do you think URI will consider upping the scholarship number for the Rams?
8:08
Brian Foley -  The current goal of the URI program is to get the facility up to caliber. They play on a glorified high school field. They just put in fieldturf and are building a new press box I believe in my conversations with the SID over the last few months.

i don't think teams like Baylor and Southern Miss should have got a bid both teams RPI is really low...

Dallas Baptist was right up there for biggest snub
8:10
Brian Foley -  Baylor shouldn't even have been on the bubble this season with the talent on that squad.

It is tough for Baptist to schedule at a competitive level without a conference affilation.
8:11
Colin Weber -  Dallas Baptist put together a really nice RPI as an Independent.   It's hard for them to put together a really strong schedule because they have to work around the conference schedules of all the other teams.   Their SOS really held them back.   It was over 100.
8:12
Brian Foley -  How is Baptist expected to play a tough schedule with no conference affilation? I think that holds the program back some.
8:12
Colin Weber -  It's a tough task.   They played the in-state programs (Texas, Baylor, Texas A&M, TCU), but they did have a lot of game against the RPI 200+.
