First, let's go through a quick primer on what to expect from the live blog. I'll write updates throughout the game for big plays and scoring. I can't do play-by-play, watch the game and keep stats at the same time. But the beautiful function of the live blog is it lets you interact. You can ask me, or the audience, at any time, offer an insight or just root for your team. Just write in the box below, it will show up to me and after the first time, you'll be allowed to post instantly. Get it? Got it? Good?

We're look at a 5:22 p.m. start time judging from the clock after the last game.

Just in front of me, Glenns Ferry beat West Side 25-22. Glenns Ferry (7-2) will advance to face North Fremont (7-1) in the next round.

For those of you who haven't already heard, North Fremont won the noon opener here at Holt Arena 14-6 over Aberdeen.

We don't have a story up yet, but you can check out our live blog from that game here.

On paper, this game looks like it should be a blowout. We previewed all the playoff games this weekend here, but here's the Butte-Declo game pulled out.

Butte County (3-4) vs. Declo (8-0)

When: 5 p.m. Saturday at Holt Arena

What to know: Saturday’s game marks the first time since 2005 Butte County has reached the playoffs, and it’s the first time in the tournament for coach Sam Thorngren.

The Pirates’ reward? Facing the state’s undefeated, top-ranked team that has rolled opponents 51.1 to 7.4 on average.

But a ranked opponent will be nothing new for Butte County. Three of its four losses have come to ranked teams — No. 2 Parma 44-0, No. 4 North Fremont 20-16 and Valley 28-20, which was ranked fifth up until this week.

5:14
But the chance Butte County has is it's single wing - it's the only 11-man team in the state that still runs it - and makes it a hard team to prepare.

And looking around the state, we saw two undefeated teams fall in 3A last night - No.2 Marsh Valley and No. 3 Buhl. I'm not saying Butte can pull this off, but things tend to come in threes.
5:16
In my picks column this week, I picked Declo 41, Butte County 21. You can read the entire column here.

So...Declo is doing a Hawaiian or Somoan war dance before the game. Umm...that looks weird in a dome at 4,000 feet in the Rocky Mountains.

FIRST QUARTER
5:27
11:55 - Declo will start from its own 41 after a squibb kick.
5:29
11:45 - Not a good start for Butte. Declo QB Jeremy Jenkins rolls right and then finds Logan Knopp wide open for a 46-yard completition to the Butte 8. That was the first play from scrimmage.
