Do the fair grounds still issue Derby Caps
11:58
Bob Fortus, T-P
-
Tony, you can buy a cap in the gift shop. Also, a T-shirt.

Bob, What did you think of Friesan Fire's workout Monday, and how do you think it will affect his performance in the Louisiana Derby?
12:02
Bob Fortus, T-P
- Tex, it's hard to say. I would expect the fast workout will make it more likely that Friesan Fire will be close to the early pace. Because he's breaking from the outside, he'll have to break cleanly, or else he could be caught wide.
I don't think the workout wore him out. He did it without being asked.

[Comment From Brad]
What is the best chance Steve Asmussen has to win a stakes race tomorrow? His Derby horses are longshots
12:04
Bob Fortus, T-P
- Brad, I like Sok Sok, Asmussen's sprinter in the Duncan F. Kenner. Ikigai, the Mr. Prospector winner from Gulfstream, is a speed horse, but the Fair Grounds track isn't as kind to speed as Gulfstream is. I'm looking for Sok Sok to run him down at a decent price.

[Comment From Filly Cheese]
Bob, if it rains overnight or tomorrow, how well do you think the track will hold up since we're near the end of the meet?
