So how close are the sixers to sending the big stiff dalembert to the bobcats?
12:58
Dick Jerardi -  Don't hold your breath on that. Contract very hard to move.

Why aren't teams allowed to negotiate and sign free agents before the draft? The Sixers should know about Andre Miller before the draft. What would be the downside to that? Thanks.

Dick Jerardi -  Agreed. It seems backward. Draft in late June. Free agency in July. Should be other way around, but the NBA, with its salary structure, is kind of bizarro world anyway.

I know Lawson can get to the basket, but can he be a good passer? Lou is not the right mentor for Lawson considering he turns the ball over a lot? Who do you see guiding Lawson his rookie season if we draft him?
1:02
Dick Jerardi -  I am not sure Lawson needs a mentor. Had an amazing a/to ratio for UNC. His speed gets him in great spots to make easy passes so yes he can be a good passer.

What are your thoughts on Dante Cunningham, there were talks that he had a great combine, if so, which teams are looking at him for the second round?
1:04
Dick Jerardi -  Don't know which teams like Dante. I know I do. He has a very high defensive IQ, always in the right spots. Can guard multiple positions. NBA types that value potential over performance may not like him. Those that value smart players who make winning plays should  really like him.

I really think wayne ellington can be a really good six man in this league...he is better than willie green right now.Why isn't he being talked of in the same light as maynor or lawson?
1:06
Dick Jerardi -  Wayne is not a PG so he is different in the way from Lawson and Maynor. He made a dramatic improvement from soph to junior season. Never gets tired. Really knows how to use screens. Great elevation on jump shot. Agree on Green comment. Wayne was really good in Detroit when it   mattered most.

What is ur take on Andre Miller, will he be back?
1:08
Dick Jerardi -  Don't have a real feel for whether he is back or not. Obviously knows how to play, but seemed much slower on defense last season. What he gave at one end, he often gave up at the other.

Why isn't substantial size on the top of the list for the draft? There is always a deep talent pool when it comes to the point position but young 7 footers like BJ Mullins seem hard to come by. Orlando proved we'll never break out of the first round without a substantial presence under the boards.
1:11
Dick Jerardi -  There is only one Dwight Howard and no antidote that I see in the draft or anywhere else. The Sixers have a ton of large power forward types. How many more do they need? I like Mullens, but a team is going to need serious patience.

I think Ty Lawson is the best fit for the 76ers, but everyone is saying that Maynor is the best point guard. How do you distinguish best fit from best available?
1:12
Dick Jerardi -

I think Lawson is the best point guard in the draft. I have no idea why he is ranked so far down the list on all these mock drafts. Don't know what you mean - best fit/best available.

Any Big five players getting drafted?
1:13
Dick Jerardi -

Cunningham, Christmas and Nivins are all on draft boards. Trying to project bottom of first round and second round is just about impossible.
