Matthew -  G'day.

FNL question (if you are watching on DTV):
12:00
Matthew -  Yes, I'm watching. Bring it on. But NO SPOILERS please.

[Comment From Neil]
Should I be concerned that FNL is delving into every sports movie cliche ever so far this season? It's still very good and they can tell the stories, better than most, but doesn't feel like we know where every single storyline is headed already?
12:01
Matthew -

I hear you. There are cliches, when you step back from the writing a just look at the storylines. But I think the writers and the actors make them fresh -- no easy task.

I feel like Community is the best new show of the season! What are your thoughts on it?
12:02
Matthew -  I like it! Not love, but like. It needs SOMETHING -- not sure what. Maybe more storylines outside of school?
12:03
Matthew -  The cast is great (although Chevy does nothing for me -- I wish another comedian had that role. Bill Murray could have made it sing...). And the jokes fly. But the story needs some expanding.

[Comment From Julie]
What do you guys think of "The Good Wife"? I remember watching the pilot and thinking, how are they going to fit both the politician's-wife storyline and a legal procedural into one show? But I think they're doing a remarkable job. How successful do you think the show is going to be at carrying that dual-plot thing forward?
12:05
Matthew -  Good question about the Good Wife. I wish they'd jettison the procedural stuff altogether; I prefer the pol's-wife stuff. The show could still be about a woman finding -- or re-finding -- her power, but without all the case-of-the-week cliches and false suspense.
