Travis L. Brown -

Welcome to the Live from Lupton in-game chat.   I am Travis L. Brown, sports editor for the TCU Daily Skiff.   I encourage you to use this space to post any questions or comments you have about today’s TCU 2009 NCAA Tournament Fort Worth Regional game, and I will answer them to the best of my abilities or I invite anyone else to answer.   If the conversation wanders a little into other realms of Horned Frog sports, that is just fine, I’ll just keep posting what’s going on with the game and answering those questions as well.   Don’t forget to tune into the game on 88.7 FM KTCU or at www.ktcu.tcu.edu.    You can also track the game here.

Travis L. Brown -  Due to NCAA blogging restrictions I cannot give a play-by-play of the game in "realtime" this go around, but I'll do my best to get updates as soon as I can up here and I can answer any questions you might have.   So if you want to know what happend ask me.

I guess aggy fan has left the building!
7:12
Travis L. Brown -  Yes.   Most took off with long faces right after their game ended.   It was like a funeral march to the parking lot.

worlds smallest violin playing!
7:14
Travis L. Brown -  The stadium has filled in nicely as the game has started.   As typical of most sporting events, the upper deck is the most full and the loudest.
7:20
Travis L. Brown -  TCU has all new video board graphics that are generic with all the other teams in the regional.   Guess they cannot use their videos they made for the season.
7:23
Travis L. Brown -  In the bottom of the first the frogs recieved three free passes to load the bases.   Matt Vern hit into a double play, which scored a run.   Bryan Holaday flied out to center to end the inning.   1 run on 0 hits with 1 left on.

Is this tournament double elimination?
7:29
Travis L. Brown -  This regional portion is.   The four teams play a little double elimination tournament to try and advance to the super regionals, or the equivalent of basketball's sweet sixteen.   In the super regionals two regions winners are matched up and play a best of three series.   The eight winners of those super regionals advance to Omaha to play another double elimination tournament.
7:31
Travis L. Brown -  The Fort Worth Regional is matched up with the Austin Regional.
7:34
Travis L. Brown -  In the top of the second, WSU lead off with two quick outs but got two on after an error by Vern at first and a line shot to center.   Hibberd ended the inning grounding to Featherston who flipped it to Steglich to end the inning.   0 runs on 2 hits and 1 left on.

Weather update, please.
7:35
Travis L. Brown -  It's plesant.   Most of the stands are in the shade as the shadows are reaching just behind the mound.   The scoreboard temp says it's 85, but that tends to be off a few degrees.   The flags are fairly still.
